Reports in America claimed Boston-based owners Fenway Sports Group were looking to cash in on the Reds. FSG bought Liverpool for around £300m in 2010 and the club is now one of the most valuable football sides in the world. It was reported Liverpool's owners were open to a sale, with the New York Post claiming John W Henry was privately entertaining offers on an informal basis Journalist Paul Joyce revealed on Twitter: "Liverpool deny FSG looking to sell club following reports in America. A club spokesman said: 'I can completely dismiss this unfounded speculation. To repeat once again, the club is not for sale, including any ‘quiet process’ or anything of that nature'."
