I think much of the criticism towards Tom is a bit unjust. He's not meant to be the super star in the team, and has always been young back up, but the team has been so poor he's seen much more pitch time than anybody expected. There are many others that need to go before him. Absolutely. It's simply unfortunate that he's only the second player (after Schneiderlin) to have been the subject of an (apparent) offer that suggests he may be one of the biggest flops.
The best thing that can happen
is that Tom has a flourishing career in Newcastle
AND that his replacements go on to even bigger things here at Everton.
For me, Sigurdsson is the player who has been the most inconsistent.

Carlo Ancelotti hopes Tom Davies can build an Everton legacy in the same vein as Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman.
Davies has just over two years left on the Goodison contract he signed in April 2019 but Ancelotti says talks are yet to begin on a new deal for the midfielder.
But the Blues boss hopes that Davies, 22, can stay at Everton for a long time because his "sense of belonging" to the club can see him replicate the important roles in the squad Baines had and the one Coleman continues to hold.
“We didn't talk about the contract of Tom Davies because he has two years left, but Tom Davies, as a figure in the club, I would like that it will be like Seamus Coleman, like Leighton Baines, this kind of player that grew in the academy," Ancelotti said.
"He has a strong sense of belonging in the team, this is what we see in the future of Tom Davies, to stay here as one of the most important parts of the squad, for his sense of belonging."

I don't mind Tom. I think when he's playing at his best he's very good, but it's his B game that will matter most.

I also like Tom , everything seems out of control with him though , all action. I think he needs to work on his composure.
The criticism he gets at times is way over the top , but that seems the norm with our fans and homegrown players.

Everton midfielder Tom Davies will leave the club this summer after rejecting a new deal with the Toffees.
Davies came through the academy at Goodison and has scored seven goals in 179 games for his hometown club.
However, the 24-year-old, who joined Everton at the age of 11, has made just six Premier League starts across the past two seasons.
"We respect his decision and thank him for his service and commitment," said director of football Kevin Thelwell.
"We offered Tom a new contract but he feels he has reached the stage in his career where he needs regular first-team football and, as a result, he wants to look at alternative options."
Davies, who won 23 caps for England Under-21s, became the youngest captain in Everton's history when he skippered the side, aged 20, for a 2018 Carabao Cup tie with Rotherham United.
